Michelle Liu
Specialist, Global Corporate Events
Michelle joined our Manchester team in March 2007 after hearing a radio advert about roles at BNY Mellon while she was working in fashion retail.
After graduating from the University of Salford with a degree in Hospitality and Tourism, Michelle wanted to work for a large organisation that could offer her career progression but wasn't sure her experience would meet the company's requirements.
However, her enthusiasm and eagerness to learn more about the financial services industry impressed at interview stage and she was offered a role as a Trade Processing Clerk within Fund Accounting's Trade Capture department.
After two years of hard work, determination and commitment, Michelle successfully transferred to the Corporate Action department having developed a strong interest in the area.
She now works within a 14-strong team and her main responsibilities include ensuring all UK Core market corporate action events are notified to clients in an accurate and timely manner, whilst meeting all additional processing requirements.
Michelle is continuing to build her skills, experience and knowledge with BNY Mellon and is studying for the Investment Administration Qualification (IAQ), which is being sponsored by BNY Mellon. Her long-term ambitions include taking on greater responsibility in the bank and becoming an expert within her field.
