Celebrating success with The Salford Foundation Trust

Celebrating success with The Salford Foundation Trust As part of BNY Mellon Manchester office’s ongoing support for The Salford Foundation Trust, we recently jointly-hosted a celebration lunch at The Lowry Hotel.

Representatives from over 120 businesses were in attendance to hear that the Trust, now in its seventh year, has reached another landmark with the financial help it provides to young people.

Two patrons of the Trust, the well-known actress Maxine Peake and musician Peter Hook, were also at the event where it was revealed that the amount of grants given to young people in Salford has now reached £75,000.

Robert Preece of BNY Mellon addressed guests at the event and stressed that in the present economic climate, it is more important than ever that businesses continue to work with charities to help give young people the opportunities they would find difficult to access themselves.

Robert said: “Through the Trust, businesses have been able to help nearly 300 young people to succeed in the sports and hobbies they love or to pursue the vocation of their choice.

“This event is a tribute to the hard work that goes on behind the scenes to point young people in the right direction and give them a little helping hand financially.

“BNY Mellon is proud to help The Trust with its important work in Salford and we hope that more and more businesses in the region look at how they can support the communities around them.”

The Salford Foundation Trust is a grant-giving charity that supports young people in Salford between five and 25 by giving them the opportunity to apply for funding to pursue their hobbies, interests, sports or vocational aspirations.
